SIMATIC HMI Basic Panel 6AV6647 - Spare Parts Availability Ends in 2026

On October 1, 2016, Siemens declared the first-generation Basis Panels, including the article number 6AV6647, as discontinued products (P.M 400). During this phase, the affected panels can still be ordered as new parts, but they are no longer actively marketed. This marks the transition to the spare parts commitment, which will be guaranteed for the following ten years. However, companies should note that these panels are no longer recommended for new installations. 

Siemens recommends switching to the second-generation Basic Panels. These new models, such as the KTP400 or KTP700, offer significant advantages in terms of user-friendliness, flexibility, and performance. They feature higher display resolution, modernized user interfaces, and new functionalities that enable more efficient operation and fault diagnosis. The transition to the new generation is also simple and can be done by device replacement within the TIA Portal.
