Siemens SINAMICS S110 Control Units (6SL3040/6SL3054) Product duscontinuation on 1 October 2026

Siemens has announced that the P.M410 product will be discontinued for Siemens SINAMICS S110 Control Units with effect from 1 October 2026. Spare parts will continue to be supplied until 1 October 2035. What are the implications of this for maintenance engineers and operators, and how can system availability be maintained for these components?

Which Siemens products are affected?

The notice concerns Siemens SINAMICS S110 Control Units. These assemblies control Siemens SINAMICS S110 servo drives. They connect the drive to the automation level. Siemens describes the Siemens CU305 control unit as an interface to the automation system.

Three Siemens products are affected. These include the Siemens Control Unit  CU305 DP 6SL3040-0JA00-0AA0, the Siemens Control Unit CU305 PN 6SL3040-0JA01-0AA0 and the Siemens firmware version 4.4 SP3 6SL3054-4TC00-2AA0. Siemens has announced that the P.M400 will be phased out on 1 October 2026. The P.M410 will be discontinued on 1 October 2026.

Key questions regarding the discontinuation of the Siemens SINAMICS S110 Control Units

From 1 October 2026, Siemens will discontinue the affected Siemens SINAMICS S110 Control Units as new parts. Status P.M410 marks the start of the spare parts phase. New Siemens SINAMICS S110 Control Units will then generally no longer be available. Procurement and maintenance departments should assess their requirements at an early stage. The spare parts code will become significantly more important from this date onwards.

Siemens states that spare parts for the Siemens SINAMICS S110 Control Units will be supplied until 1 October 2035. Whilst this date provides planning certainty, it does not eliminate availability risks in individual cases. Critical systems therefore require a spare parts strategy. Repairs, replacement units and stockpiling reduce the risk of prolonged breakdowns.

Siemens recommends two migration paths. The Siemens SINAMICS S210 is suitable for servo applications in the lower power range. The Siemens SINAMICS G220 covers a wider range of drive applications. The appropriate solution depends on voltage, power, interfaces and machine function. A retrofit therefore requires technical assessment and careful scheduling.

  • PM300 bedeutet Produkt-Liefereinsatz. Siemens liefert und vermarktet das Produkt regulär.
  • PM400 bedeutet Ankündigung Produkt-Auslauf. Siemens liefert weiter, vermarktet aber nicht mehr aktiv.
  • PM410 bedeutet Produkt-Streichung. Siemens liefert das Produkt nur noch als Ersatzteil.
  • PM490 beendet die 10-jährige Ersatzteilversorgung durch Siemens.
  • PM500 markiert das Ende des Siemens Produktlebenszyklus.

Was sind die Gründ für die Produktstreichung?

Siemens begründet die Produktstreichung mit der Umstellung von der Maschinenrichtlinie auf die Maschinenverordnung. Die EU-Maschinenverordnung 2023/1230 ersetzt die Maschinenrichtlinie 2006/42/EG ab dem 20.01.2027. Eine parallele Anwendung sieht die Stichtagsregelung nicht vor.

Für bestehende Anlagen entsteht dadurch kein automatischer Austauschzwang. Trotzdem steigt der Handlungsdruck. Instandhaltung, Technik und Einkauf sollten die Siemens SINAMICS S110 Control Units bewerten. Kritische Achsen brauchen klare Ersatzteil- und Reparaturkonzepte.

Welche Siemens Artikel bleiben unberührt?

Siemens nennt mehrere nicht betroffene Komponenten. Dazu zählen Siemens Power Modules PM240-2 6SL3210*, das Siemens Bedien-Operator-Panel BOP20 6SL3055-0AA00-4BA0 und die Siemens Blindabdeckung BOP20 6SL3064-3BB00-0AA0. 

Diese Abgrenzung hilft bei der Bestandsprüfung. Lagerbestände lassen sich sauber trennen. Kritische Artikel rücken dadurch schneller in den Fokus.
