Siemens 6EP4134-0GB00-0AY0 SITOP UPS1100 7 Ah Pb - Discontinuation Announced

P.M 400 from 1 October 2026

On 18 May 2026, Siemens announced that the Siemens SITOP UPS1100 7 Ah Pb would be phased out. The product will be phased out in October 2026. Siemens plans to remove the model from its catalogue in October 2027.

Which Siemens assembly is affected?

This notice concerns the Siemens SITOP UPS1100 24 V/7 Ah Pb battery module. The manufacturer's part number is 6EP4134-0GB00-0AY0. Siemens uses this assembly in DC UPS systems. It provides a backup for 24 V power supplies in the event of mains power failures. This ensures that control systems, industrial PCs and communication components continue to be supplied with power in a controlled manner.

Siemens will cease active marketing of the Siemens SITOP UPS1100 7 Ah Pb with effect from 18 May 2026. This marks the P.M 400 milestone for the unit. The product will be phased out in October 2026. The planned discontinuation of the model will take place following the clearance of stock in October 2027. From this date, the spare parts phase will commence in accordance with P.M 410.

The discontinuation of the Siemens 6EP4134-0GB00-0AY0 product does not immediately end its technical usability. However, Siemens is ceasing active marketing of the product and preparing for the transition to the phase-out period. Maintenance and procurement departments should review stock levels, consumption and critical systems. This will ensure planning certainty until the planned modernisation or decommissioning.

The supply situation is set to worsen with the planned discontinuation of the model in October 2027. Siemens refers to this move as “stock clearance”. From P.M 410 onwards, new parts will generally no longer be available. A robust spare parts strategy will then become increasingly important. Repairs, tested spare parts and stockpiling reduce the risk of unplanned breakdowns.

Siemens designates the Siemens SITOP BAT1600 24 V/7 Ah Pb, with item number 6EP4134-0GE10-0AY0, as the successor model. Siemens describes the successor model as fully functionally compatible. However, the dimensions have changed. Maintenance staff should therefore check the installation space, mounting and connections before carrying out the replacement.

EICHLER supports operators by providing repair, testing, refurbishment and spare parts for discontinued automation technology. This is particularly helpful following the end of Siemens' product support in October 2026 and ahead of the model being withdrawn from the range in October 2027. Technicians ensure system availability. The procurement department extends the systems' service life and avoids unnecessary immediate upgrades.

What is the status change for the Siemens 6EP4134-0GB00-0AY0?

Legend:
P.M 300: The Siemens product is in regular production.
P.M 400: Siemens announces the product's end-of-life. The spare parts commitment begins.
P.M 410: Siemens discontinues the model. New parts are usually no longer available.
P.M 490: Siemens ceases the supply of spare parts from the manufacturer.
P.M 500: Siemens brings the product life cycle to a complete end.

Why is the date of October 2027 so important?

October 2027 marks the next critical milestone. Siemens plans to discontinue the Siemens SITOP UPS1100 7 Ah Pb once stock has been sold off. This will effectively bring an end to the regular supply of new parts. From this point onwards, the focus will be on available spare parts, tested second-hand units and rapid repair processes.

For maintenance engineers, system availability is paramount. An unplanned failure of the 24 V buffer supply can affect control systems and networks. Breakdowns often incur higher costs than an early spare parts strategy. It is therefore advisable to inspect all installed Siemens SITOP UPS1100 7 Ah Pb battery modules before October 2027.

How does the Siemens successor differ?

Siemens offers the Siemens SITOP BAT1600 24 V/7 Ah Pb as its successor. The capacity remains at 7 Ah. The dimensions change from 186 x 186 x 110 mm to 157 x 156 x 138 mm. The weight decreases slightly from 6.1 kg to 6 kg.

Siemens has developed the Siemens SITOP BAT1600 series for the Siemens SITOP UPS1600 range. Among other features, Siemens highlights diagnostic functions, stauts LEDs, plug-in terminals and functions for assessing the battery's condition. The Siemens UPS1600 firmware V2.4 supports the new Siemens BAT1600 assemblies.

What strategy protects assets and budgets?

Engineering and procurement should work together. The maintenance department identifies the Siemens SITOP UPS1100 7 Ah Pb assembly currently in use. The procurement department assesses remaining stock levels, reparability and spare part costs. This enables clear decisions to be made between stocking up, repairing or switching to the Siemens SITOP BAT1600.

EICHLER complements this strategy with manufacturer-independent maintenance and spare parts supply. This extends the economic service life of existing systems. At the same time, it reduces the pressure to carry out unplanned migrations. Operators retain the flexibility to act until the planned modernisation takes place.
