Product discontinuation for Stöber converter series FDS5000 June 2026

The Stöber FDS5000 series comprises eight types, including the models FDS5004A, FDS5007A, FDS5008A, FDS5015A, FDS5022A, FDS5040A, FDS5055A, and FDS5075A. These converters are essential in many applications across mechanical and system engineering. 

Typical areas of application include tube bending, cartoning, extrusion, and driving vertical or horizontal turntables. The frequency converters offer extensive safety features such as STO and SS1 in accordance with SIL 3, PL e. They also support fieldbus connections for EtherCAT®, PROFINET®, PROFIBUS DP® and CANopen®.

The frequency converters of the Stöber FDS5000 series have been on the market for 20 years. Many electronic components are now difficult to obtain or only available at high cost. For this reason, the manufacturer has decided to phase out the entire product line by 30 June 2026. Operators are being given one year's notice to plan suitable replacement solutions. 

As of the deadline, no new devices from the FDS5000 series will be sold. Only spare parts will remain available from the manufacturer for an additional four years. System operators must assess in advance whether stock devices or alternative solutions need to be produced.
