SIMATIC TIA Portal Expert Knowledge II – System Retrofit and Troubleshooting

Seminar duration: 3 days from 08.00 a.m. - 05.00 a.m. | Cost per participant: 2,389 EUR plus VAT

This seminar imparts knowledge and skills beyond the basics required to modify existing production systems. The focus is on physical modifications to a custom-developed plant model created specifically for this purpose in our facility.

The migration of a Step7 V5.x project to the TIA Portal, as well as the migration to the new hardware of the S7-1500 family, reflect typical, practical situations. The goal is to fully migrate an existing system to the new engineering platform, TIA Portal.

In conjunction with a real plant modification, SINAMICS® drive technology is migrated from the commissioning tool STARTER to the TIA Portal integrative platform, START-DRIVE. Following this, you will carry out the re-commissioning of the system.

Practical simulations of errors and disturbances will be carried out, which will be identified and resolved during the re-commissioning process and during production operations.

The skills learned in this seminar are essential tools for automation technicians in production, maintenance personnel, as well as commissioning engineers, service technicians, and hardware/software designers in their daily challenges.

Included services
  • Detailed documentation ?
  • Catering ?
  • Free parking places ?

Handling the PG (Programming device) and basic knowledge in Step 7

You have basic knowledge of using th eprogramming device and initial experience with Step 7.

Digital and analog signal

You know the difference between analog and digital sigals and can describe their functions.

Binary numbers

You have a basic understanding of binary numbers and know the meaning of bit, byte, and Word.

What is a flip-flop (RS memory)?

You know what is meant by a flip-flop as well as set-dependency and reset-dependency.

Logical operations

You are familiar with logical operators or connections, such as AND, OR, and know how they are structured.

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

You have knowledge of the basic functionality of a PLC (inputy and outputs).

Migration of an existing STEP7 project into the TIA Portal

For example, migrating from an S7-300 to an S7-1500 controller

Real expansion of an existing system project

Installation of frequency inverter technology using the example of SINAMICS®; installation of an HMI; networking based on ProfiBUS and ProfiNET; networking technology, IP addresses, subnet mask

Program additions I - extended system hardware, drive technology

Basic operation of frequency inverters (U/f, vector control, boost); familiarisation/ refresher course on the IBN STARTER tool; PROFIDrive telegram structure

Program additions II - extended system hardware, drive technology

Migration of SINAMICS® drive technology from the STARTER commissioning tool to the TIA Portal integrative tool STARTDRIVE; recommissioning with TIA Portal STARTDRIVE - stand-alone operation, BICO interconnection

Program additions III - extended system hardware, drive technology

Technology objects, motion control, PID controller; positioning axis, axis synchronisation, flying saw

HMI project planning

Operating and monitoring, graphics, control elements, alarms, user administration

Troubleshooting and problem resolution during commissioning

Error simulations: wiring faults or defective hardware components, software errors, process alarms, intermittent faults; TRACE functions for runtime analysis

The goal is the complete migration and recommissioning of an existing system to the new engineering platform TIA Portal.

A behind-the-scenes look at our EICHLERakademiE

EICHLER's specialist seminars are designed to be interactive, offer opportunities for networking, and are characterized by practical, hands-on topics.

Professionals and decision-makers from maintenance, procurement, and technical fields take the opportunity to stay informed about current topics, trends, and developments in areas such as automation technology maintenance, life cycle and repair management, or obsolescence management.

The combination of modern training methods and fault simulations on real system hardware maximizes the learning success. Through practice-oriented case studies, real added value is created for your team.
