Shaping the Future: EICHLER Inspires Girls to Take an Interest in IT, Electronics and Logistics

Girls' Day 2026 at EICHLER

Technical careers are varied, creative and more important than ever. Yet women remain under-represented in many technical apprenticeships. This makes it all the more important to give young people the opportunity to gain practical insights and discover their own interests at an early stage.

Girls' Day has provided a valuable platform for this for many years. At EICHLER, too, this special day is all about curiosity, innovation and equal opportunities. The aim is to inspire girls to take an interest in technical careers, break down prejudices and highlight career prospects for the future.

Nine girls got a first-hand tast of just how exciting a day in the world of electronics, IT and logistics can be at this year's Girls' Day in Pürgen.

Solving puzzles, thinkering and experimenting

The action day gave the girls the chance to gain a practical insight into technical careers and to get hands-on experience.

Following a brief introduction to the company and its various departments, the day began with a variety of interactive activities. A particular highlight of the day was the IT crypto scavenger hunt. Working together, the participants solved various tasks, demonstrating logical thinking, creativity and team spirit. Through play, they learnt how important analytical thinking and collaboration are in technical professions.

The girls also had the chance to get hands-on in the electronics department. Under supervision, they picked up soldering irons and created imaginative wire figures and small projects. They were then allowed to take their self-made keepsakes home with them.

Experience technology and logistics up close

As well as IT and electronics, the pupils also gained fascinating insights into warehouse logistics. Whilst unpacking and repacking technical equipment, they learnt about various aspects of day-to-day work and discovered just how important organisation and precision are in this field.

Girls' Day was designed to make technical apprenticeships such as electronics technician for equipment and systems, IT specialist or warehouse logistics specialist more accessible and to highlight new career opportunities.

A look behind the scenes

To round off the event, the participants were given a tour of the company, during which they gained fascinating insights into the repair processes at EICHLER. This allowed them to experience technical workflows at first hand and take a look behind the scenes of indutrial maintenance.

Girls' Day 2026 demonstrated once again just how exciting and varied technical careers can be, and that enthusiasm for technology is no longer a question of gender.
