SINAMICS S120 16 kW (6SL3130-6TE21-6AA4) discontinuation

As of 01/10/2024, the SINAMICS S120 16 kW Smart Line Module (6SL3130-6TE21-6AA4) will officially move to product discontinuation (P.M410) and phase-out (P.M490) status. From this point, the module will no longer be available as a new part and can only be purchased as a spare part. For technicians and maintenance teams, this means that long-term availability of the components can no longer be guaranteed, while purchasers face the challenge of finding cost-effective solutions to keep their systems operational until planned modernisation. 

The successor, the SINAMICS S220 16 kW Booksize C-Type Smart Line Module (6SL5130-6UE21-6AC0), is already available as a replacement. A mixed operation between the SINAMICS S120 Motor Module and the Control Unit CU320/-2 remains possible. This facilitates the migration process for many users. 

With the discontinuation of the SINAMICS S120, the question arises as to spare parts supply and repair options.
