Product Discontinuation of SINAMICS S110 Control Units Announced

As of 1 October 2025, Siemens has announced the product discontinuation (P.M400) for the Control Units of the SINAMICS S110.

Which Siemens products are affected and what are they used for?

The products affected are the Control Units of the Siemens SINAMICS S110 series with the following article numbers:

These control units are used in positioning and drive applications. Typical areas of use include packaging machines, textile machines and conveyor systems. They control the drive with precision and ensure high process quality.

What does the P.M400 status actually mean?

With the P.M400 status, Siemens will cease active marketing and product maintenance of the affected Control Units as of October 2025. The items will still be available to order, but only in limited quantities. The 10-year spare parts commitment begins on this date and will run until 1 October 2035.

A date for the next stage - the product phase-out (P.M410) - has not yet been announced. The reason for this is the ongoing transition from the Machinery Directive to the Machinery Regulation.

After 1 October 2025, the Control Units will only be available as new parts to a limited extent. Spare parts availability will be ensured until 1 October 2035.

No. Systems can continue to be operated. However, preventive migration planning is strongly recommended.

Siemens names two alternatives: the S210 servo drive system and the SINAMICS G220 converter. Which solution is suitable depends on the voltage and power requirements.

EICHLER offers repair, spare parts service and sales of the affected Control Units even beyond the end of market availability. The systems are repaired down to component level and according to the specific fault pattern - quickly, cost-effectively and sustainably.

Yes, especially compared to the costly migration to new systems. EICHLER reduces breakdowns and lowers operating costs.

What services does EICHLER offer for the SINAMICS S110 series?

EICHLER ensures the long-term operation of affected system components. The range of services includes:

  • Component-level repair service
  • Load testing
  • Express repair in the event of machine breakdown
  • Availability of tested exchange units
  • Stock holding and provisioning of discontinued items

EICHLER thus supports both maintenance tams in securing system availability and procurement departments seeking cost-effective solutions.

Which alternatives does Siemens specify?

1. SINAMICS S210

Voltage range: 1 AC 200-240 V (0.1-0.75 kW) and 3 AC 200–480 V (0.4–7.0 kW)

Target group: Applications with high demands on dynamics and control accuracy.

2. SINAMICS G220

Voltage range: 3 AC 200–240 V (0,55–55 kW), 3 AC 380–500 V (1,1–110 kW)

Target group: Universal converter solutions with a wide range of applications.

Legend product status:

  • P.M300 = Product in delivery, regularly available to order

  • P.M400 = Product discontinuation announced, spare parts guarantee begins

  • P.M410 = Product phase-out, only spare parts available

  • P.M490 = End of spare parts obligation

  • P.M500 = End of product life cycle

How can the service life of the SINAMICS S110 devices be extended?

Regular maintenance, cleaning and proper storage help prevent breakdowns. The targeted use of tested replacement units from EICHLER can avoid bottlenecks in spare parts procurement. Component-level repairs ensure independence from Siemens' supply situation.

Why is the product discontinuation so important right now?

With the change to P.M400, the gradual withdrawal of the Control Units from the market, begins. Those who do not act now risk long periods of downtime in the event of a breakdown. Critical infrastructure in particular should respond in good time.

Conclusion:

The discontinuation of the SINAMICS S110 Control Units as of 1 October 2025 presents many companies with challenges. With repairs, spare parts and expertise, EICHLER offers a cost-effective alternative to expensive migration. Proactive planning helps protect against production downtime and unnecessary costs.
