Siemens CPU 1511 and 1515 discontinued starting May 1, 2024.

On May 1, 2024, Siemens will officially implement the product discontinuation for the CPU models 1511 and 1515, as well as some ET 200SP CPUs. This decision affects a variety of items, including the CPU 1511-1 PN (6ES7511-1AK02-0AB0) and CPU 1515-2 PN (6ES7515-2AM02-0AB0). The affected products will no longer be actively marketed and will only be available as new units n limited quantities. 

Siemens has been offering successor models of these CPUs alongside the previous versions for over a year. These successors provide improved performance and additional features that better meet the demands of modern automation solutions. To promote the adoption of the new models and minimize inventory of the older generations, the product discontinuation is now being consistently implemented. 

Legend:

• P.M 400 (End of life): Product is no longer actively marketed but still available as a new part.
• P.M 410 (Streichung): Product is only available as a spare part. 

Maintenance technicians and engineers will need to ensure that the affected CPUs in their systems are replaced by the successor models to guarantee long-term availability and support. Purchasers, on the other hand, will need to evaluate how to optimize the procurement of the successor models to ensure cost efficiency.
